We are an outdoor creative day service for people with additional needs and others who are marginalised
As an advocate for the curative qualities of connecting with nature, we offer outdoor activities and gardening to promote positive and impactful change to the lives of those with SEN, neurodiverse challenges, struggles with mental well-being, trauma, and feelings of isolation.
Based in the abandoned Secret Gardens of the Berkley Estate, our Gardeners feel like part of a team, like part of something special, and enjoy being connected to the community here at Withywood. They can also take time out on their own in this nourishing and safe place to just sit and absorb the sounds of nature around them.
The nurturing restoration of these old gardens is seen mirrored in the overall wellbeing and development of the Gardeners. Empowerment is felt, confidence is built and essential and transferable life skills learnt, all from the therapeutic power of being in nature.
